Economic Empowerment Group
The Economic Empowerment Group (EEG) was formed in 2001 by a group of ministers who were not satisfied with the
economic environment among the inner-city minorities living in the Capitol Region. The EEG was formed through a
partnership with the City of Harrisburg and Commerce Bank as well as the Harrisburg Housing Authority.
This partnership has been formed to back the EEG and to provide a strong support that allows for specialized banking services.
The objective of these services is to encourage EEG members to improve their economic outlook by increasing home ownership,
small business creation, and education pursuits. The goal of the EEG is to ultimately raise the standard of economic performance among minorities
in the capitol region thus raising the bar for future generations.
